Sweet Home to Host Annual Harvest Festival
Sweet Home to Host Annual Harvest Festival
Unpublished

The 13th Annual Harvest Festival will be held Saturday, October 5th, at Sankey Park.
SWEET HOME, Ore. - The 13th Annual Harvest Festival is the weekend of October 5th in Sweet Home. This family event is held at the Sankey Park where there will be free children’s games, face painting, wagon rides, and pumpkin painting. There will also be numerous vendors with crafts & food items for sale. This year the popular Pie Baking Contest has returned! There will be a division for the Youth, 17 years and under, and one for anyone 18 years and older. Entries may be either Fruit (i.e., apple, blackberry or strawberry) or Other (i.e., Pecan, Chess, Buckeye.)
“We are excited to continue this great tradition of hosting a fun event by our community, for our community. This year we have added a Fun Run and extended the festival hours until 4 pm. We will have covered seating in front of the stage where Brewers Grade Band will be performing.” said Angela Clegg, organizer of this year’s Harvest Festival. “Chafin Farms will be back again, but this time they are bringing two horse-drawn wagons. These free wagon rides are one of our popular activities. We are looking for volunteers to assist with set-up, overseeing the children’s games and clean-up.” Potential volunteers can reach Angela at 541-367-8113 or aclegg@sweethomeor.gov.
There will be craft vendors lining Weddle Bridge along with other vendors out on the lawn. The Boys & Girls Club will have a booth that will sell biscuits & gravy in the morning with hot dogs in the afternoon.
In the KidZone there will be many children’s games, pumpkin painting, and the ever-popular face painting. Local artist Andrea McClintock with Thou Art Beautiful will once again paint creative designs on festival attendees.
This year Linn Shuttle is partnering with the City of Sweet Home to provide free rides within the city limits along the Saturday Shuttle & Shopper Routes.
Harvest Festival parking will be available at Upper Sankey Park around the BMX Track, Sweet Home High School parking lot, the public parking lot at 13th and Kalmia Street.
