Coronavirus (COVID-19) - 1

SWEET HOME, Ore. March 4, 2020 — The City of Sweet Home is actively monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

Our focus is on the safety and well-being of our city. As such, we will keep our community members informed on issues related to preventative measures, warnings or imminent closures.

There are two information sources we are continuously monitoring, which we recommend you follow them as well:

Oregon Health Authority (OHA) - COVID-19

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

OHA continues to advise all people in Oregon take everyday precautions to prevent the spread of many respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19 and influenza:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds.
    • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue and then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Take care of your health overall.
    • Staying current on your vaccinations, including flu vaccine, eating well, and exercising all help your body stay resilient.
  • Call your healthcare provider if you have symptoms. They will identify the safest way to receive care. Let them know if you have traveled to a high risk area.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces that are often touched.
  • Consult CDC’s travel website for any travel advisories and steps to protect yourself if you plan to travel outside of the US.
